MS Medical Lab Science

WE ACCEPT APPLICATIONS for our MS in Medical Laboratory Science program beginning October 1st for the following fall term. The Admissions Committee begins application file review in December, and we release decisions on a rolling basis beginning in early January.

The following are requirements for applicants:

1. A COMPLETED APPLICATION

Loyola’s graduate admission application is free of cost.

2. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

Official transcripts from all undergraduate or graduate institutions attended. A bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution is required prior to matriculation.

3. COMPLETION OF THE FOLLOWING PRE-REQUISITE COURSES:

- 16 semester hours (or 24 quarter hours) of biological science, including one semester of microbiology with a laboratory component.
- 16 semester hours (or 24 quarter hours) of chemistry with laboratory including one semester in organic or biochemistry.
- 3 semester hours (4 quarter hours) of mathematics.

4. MINIMUM OVERALL GPA OF 3.0 ON A 4.0 SCALE
5. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

We require two letters of recommendation preferably from a professional colleague or supervisor who has completed a master's or higher degree.

6. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Describe your reasons for pursuing an advanced degree and how a MS in Medical Laboratory Science will allow you to reach your professional goals.
