Each November, the Loyola University Chicago community comes together in a variety of settings to celebrate and reflect on our Ignatian heritage and its continued influence on our work today. Ignatian Heritage Month is both a tradition and an invitation to deeper contemplation and renewed action.

An online, self-paced retreat open to all LUC part time faculty. Participants commit to weekly prayer, reflection, and spiritual direction. Mission Integration will provide prayer resources and spiritual direction introductions.

Loyola 201: Partners in Mission (WTC)
Working together with the Department of Human Resources, Mission Integration convenes Loyola 201: Partners in Mission, an orientation for new staff. The purpose of the orientations is to acquaint or reacquaint new members of the Loyola community with the history and goals of Jesuit higher education so that they may appreciate and incorporate an understanding of the university's mission into their roles at the university.

Join colleagues from across Loyola to discuss Pope Francis’ 2015 Encyclical on Ecology, Laudato si’, and engage your own vision for a personal “integral ecology”. Led by Director for Ignatian Spirituality, Lauren Schwer, and Director of Sustainability, Aaron Durnbaugh, this session will explore the Encyclical and our personal opportunities for sustainability and mission.

Martyrs Award Ceremony, Mass, Reception
During Ignatian Heritage Month, the Loyola community comes together to reflect and act on the Jesuit mission of service. One of those is the Martyrs Award Presentation and Memorial Mass. Given in honor of the slain Salvadoran martyrs and their commitment to service and social justice, the Martyrs Award commemorates a worthy faith-based organization or individual. Join us in celebrating year's recipient, Taller de José.
